CLASS OF 2007 BOYS AND GIRLS BASKETBALL SENIOR SHOWCASE

Special Events NW is proud to present the Class of 2007 Boys and Girls Basketball Showcase scheduled for June 3 and 4, 2006 at Auburn Mountainview High School in Auburn, Washington.

This two-day event is designed to help your student athletes showcase their skills in front of Northwest area college coaches prior to the start of their senior season. This event will not only showcase your player’s abilities on the basketball court, it will also offer them some off the court information that is sure to assist them in navigating the difficult process of selecting or being selected by a college. Over the two days, your student athletes and their parents will have the opportunity to attend breakout sessions on topics such as college recruiting, financial aid, proper workouts, the Role of a Parent in a Student Athlete’s Life, and Having an Academic Game Plan, just to name a few.

We truly believe this two day event will set the groundwork in helping your student athletes make truly informed decisions about their post-secondary futures.

Class of 2007 Boys & Girls Basketball Showcase

Get on the coaches’ radar screens before the big summer tournaments start!

NCAA STATISTICS

The NCAA states that less than 1 in 35, or approximately 2.9% of high school senior boys playing interscholastic basketball will go on to play men’s basketball at an NCAA member institution.

The NCAA also states that about 3.1%, or approximately 1 in 100, of high school senior girls interscholastic basketball players will go on to play women’s basketball at an NCAA member institution.

The simple truth is that there are far more student athletes interested in playing basketball in college than there are slots for them to fill. Since 1975, Washington State alone has added 50 new high schools, but has yet to add one new four-year college. As the number of student athletes entering colleges across the country and in our own state continues to swell, the competition for those college slots has dramatically increased.

IT’S YOUR TURN TO SHINE

After countless hours on the basketball court, it finally comes down to this. To compete on the college level, you will need to impress some coach enough to offer you a scholarship.

HOW DO COACHES SEE YOU?

The problem is, nobody seems to be beating down your door to sign you. It doesn’t mean that you don’t have what it takes; it just means that you haven’t been seen. Guess what? You’re just like most high school athletes across the country. YOU HAVE THE SKILLS, BUT NOBODY HAS HEARD OF YOU!

WE PROVIDE THE PLATFORM FOR COACHES TO VIEW TOP PLAYERS

You need a forum to showcase your skills in front of college coaches. Special Events NW Class of 2007 Boys and Girls Basketball Showcase will give you two days to showcase your skills in front of many Northwest college coaches. Be sure to join us June 3rd and 4th 2006 at Auburn Mountainview High School in Auburn, Washington for an incredible opportunity.

WHO IS SPECIAL EVENTS NW?

In the five years that Special Events NW has been in business, our events have served as vehicles for Washington State high school student athletes to not only learn more about  athletics at the college level, but to give them both the tools and knowledge necessary to enroll and participate in athletic programs at many colleges throughout the Northwest. Through events such as the In The Paint All Star Classic, the South Sound Shootout, the Capital City Roundball Classic, to name just a few, we have had the opportunity to develop fantastic working relationships with many high school, community college and four-year college coaches and athletic directors that have assisted us in achieving both our goals for the events and their goals for their student athletes and school athletic programs.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE SENIOR SHOWCASE

You will have two days of drills, skill tests and round robin games set up to showcase your game. Each day you and your parents will attend breakout sessions with guest speakers as they discuss college recruiting, financial aid, nutrition, proper work outs, the NCAA Clearinghouse, and facts about recruiting services. It won’t be easy – there will be lots of competition. WILL YOU BE THERE?
